Michael is a partner in the boutique law firm of DeBlis Law where he
specializes in tax compliance and white collar criminal defense
(www.deblislaw.com). He graduated from the Thomas M. Cooley Law
School in 2007 and later went on to earn his masters in taxation
(LL.M.) from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2012.

As a former public defender, Michael has spent nearly eight years
cutting his teeth on some of the most serious felony cases to pass
through the state courts of New Jersey. He combines a unique blend
of left-brain thinking with right brain artistry.

Michael specializes in assisting U.S. expats to come into compliance
with their U.S. international reporting obligations. In this
capacity, he performs risk assessments and guides U.S. expats
through the maze of foreign asset reporting requirements which have
come to be known as the U.S. outbound international tax regime.

Michael is a prolific writer in the area of foreign asset reporting
and voluntary disclosure. He has written articles that have been
featured in leading tax journals such as CCH Journal of Tax Practice
and Procedure, Global Tax Weekly, EA Journal, and ABA News Quarterly.
