Tyler Dunham received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University (cum laude) and with Honors in Engineering. Tyler received his Juris Doctorate degree from Capital University (cum laude). Tyler is admitted to practice law in Ohio and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is also a member of the Columbus Intellectual Property Law Association.

Prior to joining Standley Law Group LLP, Tyler designed automotive safety systems, geographic/electronic databases, and various consumer products. His experience includes tooling design, manufacturing/assembly analysis, technical drafting, and the design and testing of various mechanical/electromechanical systems.

Tyler counsels many types of clients, everyone from individual inventors to tech startups and large corporations.  His expertise includes domestic and international patent strategy, design-arounds, patent searches/opinions, and how to effectively and efficiently handle competitor activities.   Tyler’s practice also includes the preparation and prosecution of domestic and international patent applications involving mechanical, electrical, software, and business method inventions. Tyler also counsels clients on trademark and copyright matters as well as co-development, licensing, and confidentiality agreements.

Outside of practicing law, Tyler enjoys volunteering with at-risk youth through the charity network Hero USA, teaching kids wakeboarding, snowboarding, kayaking, and stand-up-paddle boarding.  He also enjoys being a mentor to local students as well as teaching continuing legal education seminars to practicing lawyers.
